A premises licence allows your business to sell alcohol, host live or recorded music, show films, and serve hot food and drinks late at night. It is legally required to have this licence if you want to do any of these activities at your business.
Generally, yes. But for one-off events, you might be able to apply for a Temporary Event Notice instead, which is simpler. If you aren't sure, feel free to speak to one of our agents to confirm!

There are 3 components. There is the council fee which generally ranges from £100 to over £635 depending on your business rates. Then there are the advertising fees for a newspaper placement which are £400 on average, but can be as low as £100 and as high as £640. And finally, there is our fee of £300. Or discounted to £200 if you do your own premises plan.
Depends on who you go with. A typical law firm will charge you from £2,000. The cheapest other provider will charge you £750. Is the service others provide any different? Yes. It takes longer...

Unfortunately, this is a legal requirement. It can be tricky to find a newspaper local to you that doesn't charge an extortionate price for placing a public notice. It's also not every local newspaper that is allowed to advertise this way. So it is entirely possible that you advertise in the wrong place and your application is rejected!
